Things have been crazy lately, but the last 2 days have been like a calm after a storm.
So, I ignored the chaos, mess, and dirty laundry of a neglected home in favor of regaining some sanity and piece of mind in my tiny studio space.
I have had this little post card print (on the right of the painting) of a Baroque painting that caught my interest about 8 years ago at the Milwaukee Art Museum.
I wanted to try a little master study using a glazing technique with my acrylics, and after spacing out and realizing I was staring at that post card on my shelf, I figured it was the perfect place to start.
And now I have my own mini painting of St. Francis of Assisi in Tomb, after Francisco de Zurbarán on my “wall of weird wonders.”
